Welcome back to the Bendigo Advertiser's central Vic golfers in profile series. This week we caught up with Neangar Park member Anne Weekley. Whether it's to get out to meet her friends for a stroll on the fairways, or to try and get her handicap down, Weekley truly loves golf. Name: Anne Weekley Handicap: 17.4 Home club: Neangar Park Golf Club How long have you been playing?: A long time. I first started playing at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club where I had some beginner classes. It was a great opportunity to learn the basics so I could start playing properly. Ball: Wilson Clubs: PING woods and driver, Retco irons with a Wilson putter. Favourite hole: The par-five fourth at Neangar Park. It's as good as any of the holes, just need to watch out for the fence on the left-hand side. Favourite shot on the course: I like driving off the tee. When you get onto a ball properly it feels really great. Best score: Nett 69 at Neangar Park with a handicap of 17. Best golf memory: I had a hole-in-one at the par-three 11th at Murray Downs. The green is hidden behind bunkers and it's hard to see. My playing partners were searching for their balls when I hit the shot, I then went over to the green looking for my ball and there it was in the cup. Current goal: My handicap has gone out over the past two years at Neangar so I am trying my hardest to get it back down again. Why do you love golf?: I get a lot of satisfaction from playing and l like the network of people you meet out on the course. It doesn't matter who you are as when you're on the course, we're all equal. CENTRAL VIC GOLFERS IN PROFILE: Want your club's results featured in the Bendigo Advertiser? Or have a golf related story?
