OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
GULLY GATHER
This free scavenger hunt quiz is the perfect activity for a weekend in the sun.
This event is suitable for pre-school to early primary school aged children.
Take a walk, search for objects and fill out the quiz, you could even win a $30 voucher. Gather items and take photos of your findings.
To participate, go to the Wattle Street entrance of the reserve, find the form at the green box, follow directions, complete and submit an entry to the orange Ironbark Gully "post box". Alternatively, entries can be submitted to: ironbarkgully3550@gmail.com

SOCIAL SUNDAY
Welcoming back the Women's Social Sunday rides, the Bendigo Mountain Bike Club regulars are invited to have a crack at mountain bike riding this weekend.
Newcomers are also welcome to have a crack at the trails.
This event can take up to two hours, so bring your own snacks, water and spares.

TULIP DISPLAY
Every year the City of Greater Bendigo's park and natural reserves team puts on a colourful display of tulips.
The 50,000 tulips assist in brightening up the city's streets from September to mid-October.
The tulips run along Bendigo's Pall Mall and the Conservatory Garden.
Curators will host talks about their techniques and they will also share some techniques to help people create their own tulip garden.

BE CONNECTED: APPLE iPHONES
Be Connected is an Australian Government initiative aiming to empower those aged over 50 to thrive in a digital world.
Learn how to set up your Apple iPhone safely and customise it for all your needs.
This online event will show you all the features of the phones, whether you're new to using Apple products or already feel comfortable with them.
The event group will be small with follow up help provided.

MEMOIR WRITING
In these writing workshops, Heather Blakey introduces narrative and memoir writing, aiming to teach techniques to draw out inspiration in memories.
You're welcome to attend every or just individual sessions.
Topics covered are: Photos and wardrobes; Homes and possessions; It didn't start with you; and Collapsing tower moments.

ART AT HOME
Hosted by the Bendigo Art Gallery, these Art At Home workshops are perfect for the budding artists.
The character of Love Forever, by Nell, has round eyes, a wide open mouth and is decorated with cockatoo feathers.
With this in mind, those aged three and up can make and decorate their own handmade critter.
This activity explores modelling skills for children.
You will need paper clay for this task and can decorate using paint, textas, buttons, wires, beads and more.

SUNDAY MARKET
The Bendigo Sunday Market is a community event run nearly every Sunday.
The market is one of the largest in central Victoria and is COVID-19 safe, meeting council guidelines.
There will be plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables, various foods, coffee, plants, clothing, furniture, craft items, children's items, picture framing, gifts for everyone, antiques and much more.
The market is also free to attend with ample parking available.
Where: Prince of Wales Showgrounds, 42-72 Holmes Road, North Bendigo.
When: Sunday, October 4, 8.30am to 2pm.
CASTLEMAINE MARKET
Catch up in Castlemaine and support central Victorian producers.
This market is on the first Sunday of every month and every Wednesday.
It features fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, cakes, jams, preserves, wine, beer, plants, livestock and much more.
This market has strict COVID-19 measures in place to keep the community safe. Please use hand sanitiser at entry points and maintain a safe distance. Card purchases are preferred.

WESLEY HILL
Located opposite the Albion Hotel, Castlemaine, this weekly market showcases the producers of fruits and vegetables, along with the makers of the handmade, quirky and cute items.

ART EXHIBITIONS
SHARING PROCESS
The Greater Bendigo region has a community of First Nations artists whose cultural histories span all throughout Australia.
Sharing Process invites a selection of these artists to reflect upon cultural influences and celebrate with a variety of their works.

BURNING WORLD
The Burning World exhibition brings together works by four Australian artists, Hoda Afshar, Peta Clancy, Rosemary Laing and Michael Cook.
This exhibition examines natural landscapes to reveal more about human inhabitation.
These works confront realities and focus attention to what may have been overlooked.
This is a free online exhibition and can be viewed via the Bendigo Art Gallery website.

KNUCKLE KNOT
Artist, Minaal Lawn, makes domestic scale ceramic objects that celebrate the reconciliation of her Indian heritage with her Australian upbringing.
Her work shows the transformation of culture, childhood and object symbolism.
Minaal Lawn's work shows coloured ceramic knots and knuckle forms.
Where: Corner Store Merchants, 220 Barker Street, Castlemaine.

FALKNER GALLERY
Falkner Gallery has re-opened their doors with two exhibitions, Pilbara by Margaret Lees and Observateur des Oiseau by Sue Gilford.
Margaret Lees works with oil pastels and Sue Gilford works with pyrography.
The Falkner Gallery also displays works by Jean-Marc La-Roque, Robert Marnika, Margaret Cromb, Linda McLean, Tarli Glover, Liz Caffin, Sarah Ormonde and others.

TRADITIONAL ARTS FAIR
This Traditional Arts Fair will showcase various cooking skills through to trade skills.

SPRING OPEN GARDEN EXHIBITION
Each weekend in Spring starting from October 24, Mica Grange opens its gardens gates for a sculpture exhibition.
Located at the foothills of Mount Alexander, Mica Grange is renowned for its beautiful garden walks and morning and afternoon teas.
Each opening features a wide range of sculptures from all over Australia, as well as plants and preserves for sale.
Group bookings can be arranged for weekday visits. Entry $7 (children under 18 free).
