Scott O'Keefe's friend Ash Thomas has organised an event in Hargreaves Mall that will see a marathon bike ride, a barbecue, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, the first prize being worth over $1000.
Local man Ryland Bell will ride a stationary bike for 12 hours, beginning at 6am, with Mr Thomas to join him for much of the time.
Mr Thomas - who set up a GoFundMe page for Mr O'Keefe - said he hoped people would come down, buy a sausage and a raffle ticket, and support his friend and his family.
Meanwhile, Domino's franchisees Jason and Lindsay Tod will donate $1 from each pizza sold at their three Bendigo outlets on Friday to Mr O'Keefe and his family.
Mr O'Keefe suffered burns to more than 50 per cent of his body after a blast at an Eaglehawk workplace on September 16.
He is a father of two young children and is expecting another in December.

"I think Scott's story touched so many people in the community," Ms Tod said.
"After I heard about the accident he was involved in, and the injuries he sustained, I felt a call to action and knew we had to help.
"As small business owners ourselves, we can only imagine the stress of being unable to work for a long period of time, and the financial pressure this would place on our family."
The Tods hope to raise at least $2000 for Mr O'Keefe and his family.
"Bendigo is such a beautiful and generous community," Ms Tod said.
"The locals have always supported our local fundraising initiatives and we don't expect this to be any different."
