Champions IGA have issued a statement in relation to the warning issued by Bendigo Health on Friday evening.
In it management said they were notified last night that someone with coroanvirus had visited the Heathcote store.
It is understood the person tested positive for COVID-19 after they visited the store on Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21.
"This person was in the Heathcote store for less than 15 minutes on both visits and was wearing a mask and deemed low risk, " the statement reads.
"We have been informed that our over and above cleaning procedures we currently have in place was sufficient."
Bendigo Health issued the warning last night saying anyone who visited the store on the dates in questions should monitor themselves for symptoms.
If mild symptoms present, people are encouraged to get tested.
Bendigo Health has published advice urging people to monitor themselves for symptoms after a COVID-19 positive person visited Heathcote IGA this week.
The Public Health Unit Bendigo confirmed a person infected with coronavirus was at Heathcote IGA on Sunday, September 20 and Monday, September 21.
Bendigo Health urges anyone who visited the supermarket from September 20 to 21 and is experiencing even the mildest of symptoms is encouraged to get tested for COVID-19.
For those who visited the supermarket but do not have symptoms, people are encouraged to monitor themselves closely for symptoms including fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, cough, a runny nose and loss of sense of taste or smell.
Bendigo Health operates two COVID-19 Screening Clinics, seven days-a-week.
According to DHHS figures published on Friday, there were no Greater Bendigo residents with an active infection - the first time the figure was at zero since late June.
