City of Greater Bendigo parks and open spaces staff prepared 50,000 tulips for the city's garden displays and manager Paul Gangell believed the flowers will look their best by the end of next week.
"In the next few weeks the tulips will increase in colour and size," he said. "Next weekend we will see other garden beds that are still developing coming into full bloom.
"It has been incredible success already this season. The feedback from the community has been incredible. It is reflective of the hard work staff put in."

Mr Gangell said tulip displays are in the Queen's Gardens, Canterbury Park, Bendigo's Botanic Gardens and the Civic Gardens.
He said council is considering how the annual tulip dig may also continue at the end of the season.
"We are endeavouring to find a solution while keeping in mind social distancing requirements," he said.
Money raised from the tulip dig helps fund the tulip displays for the following year.
"(Usually) you dig the tulips up, divide them, store and dry them. It takes quite a bit of work and is beyond our capacity and not too cost efficient," he said. "So we use funds each year from the dig to support the purchase of new tulips. We buy in bulk, different colours each year, so we can change the display."
