Another 2020 event has fallen victim to the coronavirus pandemic with the Bendigo Comedy Festival cancelling its October dates.
Festival organiser Ash Greblo said the committee worked hard to present an online alternative but decided to cancel the event.

"Our committee has absolutely racked their brains trying to find a way to make a big, funny festival happen but unfortunately with the effects of COVID-19 we are unable to deliver the atmosphere that makes our festival the exciting weekend it is," he said.
"We were hoping for a change, even though the changes we got were pretty good, it didn't allow for comedy shows.
"The main thing we were thinking was if there was a way to do it and make it good. An online (event) wouldn't deliver the expectation we had.
"We are still young festival and want our efforts to be good and remembered."
Greblo said the decision was disappointing after the Melbourne international Comedy Festival was cancelled in March.
Greblo was due to host his first solo show at the Melbourne event.
"A couple of days before it cancelled, the tickets were up, the show was written and ready to go. Now we've got to start again," he said.
"You don't run a festival for own benefit but (the Bendigo performers) like seeing the regulars smiling and having fun."
Organisers are hopeful they won't have to cancel other events they are planning for November and beyond.
"We are trying to get at least one gig happening. We're looking to do Movember fundraiser and hoping Women of Wit and our summer series can come back," he said. "It will depend on restrictions. (The festival) will be back next year. All the work that went into this year will roll into the next."
