The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a damaging winds warning.
"Winds will strengthen from the west late Sunday evening, extending to eastern parts of the warning area early Monday morning," the bureau said.
"Winds will ease rapidly from the west during Monday morning, dropping below warning threshold in the west in the early hours, and in the east later on Monday morning."
There was 6.8mm of rain recorded at Bendigo on Sunday morning after a rain band crossed the region overnight.
Further falls are forecast for each of the next few days.
