Visits will be allowed seven days a week, but will need to be booked in advance and will take place in designated visiting areas.

"We'd like to thank everyone for your patience and understanding through the latest restriction period," Castlemaine Health said in a social media post.

"During the past months our staff have done an incredible job of maintaining vital infection control measures to protect our residents and patients.

"The outcome is a credit to the professionalism of our staff, and the support of residents, patients and their families. We'll continue to review restrictions in relation to risk."

Castlemaine Health said all visitors will continue to be temperature-checked, asked a series of health screen questions and asked to sign in.

New visiting arrangements have also been announced for the Geroe Acute and Connolly Rehabilitation facilities.
