The 6'2 guard is the next of the Bendigo players to be featured by Allen Basketball for their top performances at the 2019 Under-18 Junior Championships representing Victoria Country.
McCauley finished the tournament with 3.44 points per game, 1.89 rebounds and 1.11 steals.
He has been described by Lucas Allen as a true three player with strong defensive abilities, having great team spirit and a big shot maker.
"It was a cool and challenging experience at the championships as at the time I was bottom age and a bit undersized compared to my opponents," McCauley said.
"Since I am a smaller guard I can get under my opponents to stop them and I can also knock down shots whenever I am open."
During his junior career he has been selected for state teams twice, helped his team secure silver at an earlier Australian Junior Championships in addition to competing at several other top tournaments.
With years of experience on the basketball court, he now has his eyes set on the next stage of his career, the dream of playing in Australia's top league.
"I am looking at it as a possibility and hopefully I can start by getting into the NBL," he said.
