The area is noted in a report on the Marong Township Structure Plan, which will be presented to the City of Greater Bendigo Council at its September council meeting.
The report said the city had been investigating a number of sites for industrial land since residents and the state government opposed the Marong Business Park plan in 2018.
The original business park site was north-west of the Marong township, but the report identified south of the town as a potential place for a new industrial park.

"Given the proximity to the township and the impacts particularly around infrastructure delivery, the final Township Structure Plan has been amended to broadly reference this area," the report said.
"Any potential future rezoning of any of this land to enable a business park would be the subject of a separate process, which would involve community consultation."
The council adopted the Greater Bendigo Industrial Land Development Strategy in June this year.
The strategy noted the significant shortage of industrial land in Greater Bendigo and the need for future business parks.
The city's strategy and growth director Bernie O'Sullivan said the potential business park site would be located close to transport and provide jobs for the community with minimal impact on residents.
"We are currently in discussions with the landowners about their intentions for the land," Mr O'Sullivan said.
"However, we are looking at a number of sites across the municipality to meet future industrial land needs and this site is among those under consideration.
"Significantly expanding our industrial land will be critical to retain and increase jobs and businesses in Greater Bendigo.
"A small number of potential sites were identified as part of the development of the Industrial Land Development Strategy and which Council is investigating.
"We are speaking with a range of landowners but no decisions have been made."
