His entire life he has been working towards playing college basketball in the United States and this week that dream will finally become a reality.
Even will all that's going on across the world in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, nothing will stop Daniels.
"I've really put everything behind me and I am focused on my lifelong dream," he said.
"It wasn't a hard decision to make and I wasn't going to let it impact what I've been working towards my entire life.
"I am not worried at all. I am feeling pure excitement for the next chapter in my life."
The Bendigo Braves product is leaving on Thursday on a scholarship to play college basketball at Regis University in Colorado for the 2020-21 season.
You would normally think nerves would come into play ahead of the move, but Daniels is more confident than ever in himself both on and off the court.
"I've been in the backyard shooting hoops with my little brother and putting in all of the extra work to set myself apart from the rest," Daniels said.
"I am just excited, no nerves at all. It's just playing basketball which is something I've done my entire life.
"I can't wait to get over to America and live out my dream."
The only hard decision to make is what he will study, which he is tossing up between engineering or psychology with a focus on sports.
