Triple premiership player Jake Hall and 2017 premiership midfielder Matt Harvey will return to the club for next season.

After winning the 2019 premiership, the Storm have gone through some major changes to their playing and coaching rosters.

That doesn't mean their expectations for 2021 have changed, particularly with the return of Hall and Harvey.

"We're going to have a lot of talent, but we're not going to be as experienced as what we have been, so that's why we're so excited to get Hally back,'' Storm co-coach Darryl Wilson said.

"He's well-liked, he's vibrant and he's a triple premiership player with the club... the news he's coming back has been well received by the players and the community.

"Matt Harvey played with the Pioneers, played in a senior flag with us and then went down to Geelong for uni.

"He played some really good footy down there. He was averaging 20-plus possessions in the Geelong league which is very good footy.

"It's good news for the competition to see two quality players come back into the league."

The Storm will look to cover the departures of key position players Bryce Curnow (Kerang) and Hugh Robertson (US football scholarship) with multiple options.

Lachy Ratcliffe has the potential to hold down centre half-back, while young gun James Schischka and recruit Tom Bartholomew will be marking targets across half-forward.

Hall could also be used inside forward 50.

"We think Hally is a huge utility for us. We'll utilise him in different ways depending on the week and what areas we are deficient in,'' Wilson said.

"He's really keen to take on a leadership role as well.

"Harvey works hard, has played well in senior finals for us and loves to get forward and kick a goal.

"He has a lot of good senior footy in front of him."

Wilson said the club was still in talks with "a couple" of other potential recruits.

"We're very happy with the young group we have at the club. It's an exciting time for us."
