GREATER Bendigo has just 15 active COVID-19 cases, and no new cases since Thursday, according to Premier Daniel Andrews.
Mr Andrews said regional Victorian communities were in a much better position than they had been a few weeks ago.
The state recorded 113 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. Twelve people died from the virus.
Just 187 COVID-19 cases are active in regional Victoria. The state has 3141 active COVID-19 cases in total.

Mr Andrews thanked regional Victorians for coming forward and getting tested to slow the spread.
He named Greater Bendigo as one of the three regional communities where the government thought they had a real problem a few weeks ago.
"That's a testament to the hard work, the amazing work that every single regional Victorian is doing," he said.
Victoria recorded 46 more cases with an unknown source. A total 449 active cases are in healthcare workers.
A total 513 Victorians are in hospital being treated for COVID-19. Twenty-nine are in intensive care, 17 of those on a ventilator.
Mr Andrews also thanked emergency services for their hard work responding to storm damage and injuries in Melbourne overnight.
Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said case numbers were trending in the right direction, but Victorians needed to hold the course.
Mr Sutton said he expected daily new case numbers below 100 over the weekend or next week.
"There's no question we're dong it tough. But there's also no question numbers continue to decrease," he said.
"In regional Victoria in particular, it's clearly very much on track."

VICTORIA has reported 113 more COVID-19 cases overnight.
Another 12 people have died from the virus in Victoria.
Friday's new case numbers were the same as Thursday's, which marked the lowest daily case growth since early July.
Central Victoria's COVID-19 case numbers remained steady on Thursday, but active case numbers fell across several municipalities.
Greater Bendigo's active case numbers fell to 16 and the Macedon Ranges to eight.
Mount Alexander, Loddon, Campaspe, Buloke and Central Goldfields shires reported no change to case numbers.
