BENDIGO LEAGUE
THE race for pole position in the Addy Iso-Season for the Bendigo league couldn't have been any tighter as Golden Square finished on top of the ladder by 0.1 per cent from Strathfieldsaye.
Strathfieldsaye had gone into Saturday's final home and away round sitting in top spot, and while the Storm won its game, Golden Square was able to snatch top back courtesy of recording the season's most comprehensive victory.
The Bulldogs went on a rampage against Maryborough to win by 146 points, 27.20 (182) to 5.6 (36).
Conversely, Strathfieldsaye had to fend off a persistent Eaglehawk, which fought valiantly at Tannery Lane after being jumped early to fall short by six points as the Storm won 12.12 (84) to 11.12 (78) and will hit the finals on an 11-game winning streak.
Both the Bulldogs and Storm ended the season with 16-2 records, but Golden Square with the percentage edge by the barest of margins - 170.2 to 170.1.
After beating Kyneton by 29 points, Sandhurst also finished the home and away rounds 16-2, but with a percentage of 156.3.

HEATHCOTE DISTRICT
White Hills has kept its Heathcote District league season alive after beating Heathcote in their "win or go home" clash.
The equation was simple for the two sides - the winner would secure fifth spot and the last finals berth; the loser would finish sixth.
And it was the Demons who handled the pressure of the situation the best, kicking the first five goals of the game and never looking back, going on to win 17.13 (115) to 9.10 (64).
Having been 6-2 at the halfway mark, the Saints ended the season with eight losses in a row.
Second-placed Lockington-Bamawm United will head into the finals on the back of two heavy defeats.
The faltering Cats copped a 73-point hiding off Leitchville-Gunbower, with that disappointing performance coming off a 98-point thrashing from North Bendigo in their previous game.
Elsewhere, minor premier North Bendigo put the exclamation mark on its dominant home and away season by beating Huntly by 53 points to extend its winning streak to 10.

Raging flag favourite Bridgewater completed an undefeated home and away season with a 51-point win over Maiden Gully YCW, while Inglewood's winless year came to a close with a 64-point defeat to Mitiamo, which narrowly fell short by 1.7 per cent of displacing Calivil United in third position.
