The Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday reported another 278 new coronavirus cases were detected across the state in the past 24 hours.
It came after 410 new COVID-19 cases and another 21 deaths were recorded in the state on Wednesday. Sixteen of those deaths were linked to aged care centres.
Greater Bendigo also recorded one less active case on Wednesday. There were 53 active cases in the local government area.

Mount Alexander Shire also had one fewer active case, with two in the local government area.
Campaspe Shire had two active cases, one more than Tuesday, while case numbers in the Macedon Ranges, Loddon, Gannawarra, and Central Goldfields shires remained stable.
There are 86 active cases of COVID-19 in central Victoria.
