School principal Jason Bysouth today posted the news on the schools' website on Friday.
"I am very aware that this is a time of heightened anxiety for us all. The people best placed to answer your questions are the DET (Department of Education and Training) staff who are supporting us," he told parents in the message.
Mr Bysouth encouraged anyone with questions to call the department's coronavirus (COVID-19) hotline on 1800 338 663, 8am to 6pm, seven days a week.
More news:
The school is being closed for 24-hours as a precautionary measure, Mr Bysouth said.
The Bendigo Advertiser is yet to confirm whether that will mean extra steps need to be taken on school grounds, given that it is now a weekend during a lockdown that had already forced classes online.
The Addy also yet to confirm whether the case relates to a student, staff member or someone who has been in close contact with them.

Mr Bysouth has told all students and staff they will have to stay at home during the initial 24-hour closure period, while health authorities begin contact tracing.
"This includes limiting movements to home-based activities and not attending public places," he said in the message.
More to come tomorrow.
