VOTERS need to check they are on election rolls by 4pm on August 28 amid preparations for an October of council elections.
The Victorian Electoral Commission is preparing for the postal vote in municipalities across Victoria. Anyone on the state electoral roll for their current address is automatically enrolled.
There are also additional enrolment categories for non-resident owners, occupiers, company nominees and non-Australian citizens who pay rates.
People should contact their council for more information.
The VEC expects upcoming council elections to be the largest ever, with a predicted 4.5 million voters and over 2,000 candidates participating in elections across 76 councils.
