FOLLOWING a 12-year innings in the role, Wayne Walsh will declare as president of the Bendigo District Cricket Association on Monday night.
Walsh will hand over the presidency reins at the BDCA's annual general meeting.
"Twelve years at the helm is long enough. It has been a great opportunity to remain involved in Bendigo cricket and I've been really happy to have been able to put something back into the administrative side of the game," Walsh said at the weekend.
"It has been a good journey... being part of a board has its ups and downs, but overall, it has been a really positive experience and the team that we've had on the board has stuck together and worked well."

- Wayne Walsh - outgoing BDCA president
Walsh has had an unbroken run of involvement with the BDCA since first playing first XI cricket at Eaglehawk in 1975-76.
A member of the Bendigo Sports Star Hall of Fame, Walsh is a 13-time premiership player in the BDCA - nine at Eaglehawk and four at Golden Square - who post his playing days finishing in 2000 served on the committee of Golden Square and coached the BDCA Melbourne Country Week team, including to its drought-breaking provincial group title in 2007, before taking on the presidency of the association.
"I feel that passing on the baton to the next president the association is set up well financially and sufficiently to move forward as an entity," Walsh said.
"We're fortunate that we've got really good grounds and facilities in Bendigo, we've been successful at Melbourne Country Week (two provincial group and one division two title during Walsh's presidency), which comes back to having not only the commitment of players and coaches, but a strong governing body working to ensure Bendigo cricket thrives."
