There are now 22 active COVID-19 cases in the municipality, according to figures published on Sunday afternoon by the Department of Health and Human Services.

That gives Greater Bendigo a total of 33 cases since the pandemic began.

Elsewhere, a case has been removed from the Macedon Ranges, taking the shire's active number down to 19.

Case numbers were unchanged elsewhere in central Victoria.

Buloke is now one of just four local government areas in Victoria yet to see a case.

The data was published shortly after the premier Daniel Andrews announced that Stage Three restrictions would be resuming across regional Victoria from Wednesday night.

It means there will only be four legal reasons for leaving home - for work, care, exercise or to go shopping for food.

A state of disaster has been declared and will take effect at 6pm today (Sunday), which is when tough Stage Four restrictions will also be introduced for metropolitan Melbourne.
