Several junior sports scheduled over the next few days have been postponed due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases across the City of Greater Bendigo.

On Wednesday it was announced that several schools will close temporarily due to COVID-19 cases which left junior sports administrators with no other option but to temporarily cease competitions and training.
The Bendigo Basketball Association announced on Wednesday afternoon that all games and training for that night had been postponed.
"It was unfortunate that we had to cancel, but safety of the players and the entire community is our number one priority," BBA president Ben McCauley said.
"Bendigo Basketball and the Bendigo Stadium are now monitoring the situation closely.
"We will meet later today (Thursday) to discuss how we move ahead for the games scheduled for Friday."

On Thursday afternoon Hockey Central Victoria also made the decision to postpone the matches scheduled to be played over the next few days due to player availability.
"HCV competitions has decided to postpone this Friday (July 31) and Monday (August 3) matches at the Bendigo Regional Hockey Facility," HCV said in a statement.
"These matches will now be played on Monday September 21 (Under 15 Mixed and Under 18 Mixed) and Friday September 25 (Under 13 Mixed)."
HCV president Glenn Pomeroy said health and safety of the players and community was a priority.
"Given all the uncertainty, we feel that it's wise to err on the side of caution and postpone this weekend's matches," he said.
'We're not cancelling everything, we will wait and see how things change."
The situation will be reviewed over the next week before a decision is made on the remaining rounds of the 2020 HCV junior season.
The Bendigo Baseball Association has suspended all activities scheduled for this weekend.
"Reflecting on the current situation, all junior baseball activity will be suspended for this week," BBA said in a statement.
"Sports Victoria will be meeting at the end of the week to deliberate on where junior sport in Victoria stands and if the decision will be made to cancel junior sport across Victoria.
"We want to take the time to allow Sports Victoria to deliver their advice and then make the appropriate decision regarding the junior baseball season.
"The Bendigo Baseball Association is taking this direction to ensure the health and safety of all its members. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time."
After the success of several weeks of junior racing at the Huntly Livestock Exchange, the Bendigo and District Cycling Club has cancelled the scheduled event for this weekend.
Bendigo and District Table Tennis Association has also made the same decision by cancelling junior activities scheduled for Friday.
