There are the close-calls when a player lands their ball less than two feet to the pin, but nothing is better than when it rolls in the hole straight off the club.
This dream became a reality for Bendigo Golf Club's Glenda McCullough last Tuesday.
McCullough stepped up on the tee at BGC's par three 110m 17th, struck a clean ball and the next thing she knew, it went in.
The ace is one of two that have been made on the 17th in recent weeks, with less than a month ago fellow BGC member Anne Griffiths also scoring her first ever.
Other hole-in-ones since golf's return in late May include Neangar Park member Michael Arnott landing his first ace at his home club on the par three 12th.
Peter Watson also landed an ace at Axedale's par three sixth and Barbara Bannerman made one at Quarry Hill's par three second.
