Pressure is on
Who would want to be premier of Victoria right now? It really doesn't matter what he says or does it won't be right in everybody's eyes. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes but he seriously needs to find those accountable or fall on his sword.

Why does Western Australia make it mandatory to be tested when entering its borders yet in Victoria it isn't or wasn't?
Why did Victoria use some private security firm to guard our quarantine hotels, and the rest of the states used the military?
Why are we paying an opposition leader who does nothing but criticise and argue rather than suggesting better options?
People don't want to be told what to do or what they can't do. Victoria is in the middle of a second wave with cases in Bendigo itself. Yet recently I drove past Lake Weeroona and you couldn't get a park. People were parked everywhere, walking everywhere, and sitting in groups everywhere.
What's it going to take? My mother is in aged care and I worry every single day that someone who doesn't think they have it or can get it, passes it to someone who works there, like what's happening in Melbourne. If that happens a lot more are going to die.
I can't visit her, she can't see her children, grand children or great grandchildren because people don't care until it happens to them.
I suppose it's like speeding, drink driving, or something like that - it's not until they get caught or have an accident do they take notice, and even then they still don't learn.

Castlemaine hub a positive step
Tapping into the arts precinct is always inspirational.
A hub where artists can present their works for sale together with a cafe can only enhance Castlemaine's tourism.
Good Luck with your new venture. I hope you have a great turnover of artworks, while also making a difference to all struggling artists out there.

The benefits of optimism
Thanks for the superb article by Natalie Croxon on Bendigo's world-leading "Voices of Optimism" campaign.
People can be weighed down by fear when the truth is that for most people things will work out in the end.
Glad you have given readers the opportunity to reflect on what makes them optimistic. Family? Faith? Friends? Opportunity?
If they could then ask a friend or family member "What makes you optimistic?", they will find the question and answer will lift both of them.
