THE trio of Cameron Taylor, Xavier Ryan and Jordan Ilsley have been selected in the Victorian Country Cricket League's 2019-20 Team of the Year.
Strathdale-Maristians' star Taylor claimed one of the opening batting positions; Bendigo's Ryan was selected as the wicket-keeper; while Sedgwick's Ilsley was picked as one of the bowlers.
For the Suns' Taylor it's his second-consecutive selection in the VCCL Team of the Year and is another acknowledgement of his brilliant 2019-20 season with the Suns in the BDCA.
All-rounder Taylor combined 945 runs, including three centuries, with 38 wickets for the season, won a record-breaking fourth BDCA Cricketer of the Year, captured a fifth premiership with the Suns and also captained the club's Regional Big Bash championship.
While it was a lean season with the bat for Bendigo's Ryan that he's desperately keen to atone for in 2020-21, the 21-year-old did have a productive summer behind the stumps with the gloves.
Ryan claimed 34 wicket-keeping dismissals - 27 catches and seven stumpings.
And Sedgwick's Ilsley was dominant with the ball for the Rams in the Emu Valley Cricket Association, capturing 48 wickets.
Among Ilsley's supeb season was a 12-wicket match against Axe Creek in round two when he took 7-7 in the first innings followed by 5-23 in the second.
