Bendigo Health chief nursing and midwifery officer David Rosaia said the ADF officers will assist Bendigo Health staff.
"ADF officers will help with swabbing patients, gathering information from patients and visitors and helping with traffic management," Mr Rosaia said.
The ADF personnel have medical, nursing and allied health training and will be in Bendigo for the next three weeks.
Bendigo Health will also operate its own public health contact tracing team from next week, according to chairman Bob Cameron.
Health Minister Jenny Mikakos last week announced six dedicated regional public health teams would be established, in addition to teams working in Melbourne.
"You don't plan a war much like you don't plan a pandemic," Mr Cameron said.
"You run a war and you run a pandemic.
"You have to adapt and change and that means when the central team has a lot of work on, you have to be prepared to look and see what can be done to assist."
Mr Cameron said the public health team is yet to be established and will be assembled this week.g
Bendigo's new COVID-19 drive thru screening clinic on Bendigo Health's grounds has proven popular, with about 160 people tested per day.
"That is 160 individuals. You may have one or three people in a car," Mr Rosaia said.
"The traffic is quite busy and the drive thru area is limited, but we are finding it takes between five and 10 minutes for testing in the drive thru clinic."
