BENDIGO LEAGUE
GOLDEN Square's unbeaten run in the Addy Iso-Season ended at the hands of arch-rivals Sandhurst in Saturday's round 14.
In what was a grinding contest where the two flag contenders were nip and tuck all afternoon, a late goal from the Dragons' Matt Thornton clinched a four-point victory for Sandhurst.
With his side trailing by two points, Thornton took a towering contested mark 15m out and converted the goal with 45 seconds left on the clock to give Sandhurst a 10.10 (70) to 9.12 (66) victory, meaning the Dragons, who improve to 12-2, have now beaten every side in the Bendigo league.
Elsewhere, Kyneton lifted itself off the bottom of the ladder with a commanding 67-point win over Maryborough at the Showgrounds.
Eaglehawk recorded its biggest win of the season, blowing Castlemaine away early at Canterbury Park on the way to a 90-point win.
The in-form Strathfieldsaye is now on the competition's best winning streak of seven in a row after disposing of South Bendigo by 74 points, while Gisborne kicked away from Kangaroo Flat after half-time to win by 38 point at Gardiner Reserve.

HEATHCOTE DISTRICT
Mount Pleasant caused a boilover in the Heathcote District league with a big upset against Lockington-Bamawm United.
