"At any time of year, under any circumstances, there is so much incredible work happening across our shire, so it's great to see everyone just getting on with what we do best," Mount Alexander Shire cultural development officer Vicki Anderson said.
Shedshaker Brewery will use the grant to bring live music back to Castlemaine through it's Love Your Local performances.
Other projects include The Village Festival's Drive-in Fire Show, Lisa D'Onofrio's research celebrating historical and contemporary local women, Jan Wositzky's Storyteller's Guide to the Goldfields; Wide Open Road Art's Connects exhibition and Martin Lee and Wally Gunn's sound installation at the Castlemaine Railway station.
Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre's The Art of Pinstriping project, Kate Gamble's examination of social distancing needs, Sach Motee electronic music project and a Punctum Inc project also received grants.
Get Lost creative producer Sam Thomas said the selected projects would connected with the community.
"During this exceptional time it is important that we focus on our shared experience, on what brings us together," he said. "The creative arts are a great vehicle for us to reimagine our surroundings, and the sense of anticipation of what is possible is energising."
