A FIRE at a Malmsbury house earlier today was contained to a section of the roof space within five minutes, a CFA spokesperson has confirmed.
The spokesperson earlier said the fire started in a bedroom and moved into the ceiling.
Firefighters had the fire contained within the roof space of the room within the first five minutes, they later said.
People were home when the fire started.
The CFA spokesperson said occupants all safely self-evacuated.

FIREFIGHTERS are believed to have salvaged most of a Malmsbury house after a fire broke out in a bedroom and moved into the ceiling.
CFA volunteers put a stop on the fire about 2.10pm
Firefighters are still on scene checking for any remaining hot spots in the ceiling.
It is not yet known whether anyone was home at the time.

FIREFIGHTERS are responding to a house fire at Malmsbury.
The fire, at a house in Ross Street, was brought under control shortly after 1.30pm
Firefighters were called to the scene about 1.15pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but a Country Fire Authority spokesperson said it started in a bedroom and moved into the ceiling.
They said firefighters were doing an internal fire attack in the ceiling space.
Six vehicles are responding, with CFA units from Malmsbury, Taradale, Elphinstone and Kyneton.
