THE CFA wants to upgrade parts of its Huntly training site so firefighters can practice their craft more efficiently.
It has lodged plans with the City of Greater Bendigo for new and moved water tanks and a treatment facility at 29 Caellis Road.
The works would allow firefighters to train with recycled water.
They would also benefit from new drainage, fencing and a concrete training area. Parts of the facility would also get a face lift.
The site allows firefighters and recruits to practice scenarios in a controlled and realistic environment.
The CFA is undertaking works to enhance all its training campuses.
It has already completed rebuilds at its Penshurst and Wangaratta sites.
Council planners are considering whether to approve the plans.
