The COVID-19 situation means NAIDOC Week, the annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culture and history, is postponed from July to November for the first time in the event's 64 years.
But a virtual concert scheduled for this weekend means people will still be able to celebrate.
Actor and comedian Dion Williams will co-host the concert with fellow comedian Shiralee Hood.
The concert will also feature such artists as Uncle Archie Roach, Troy Cassar-Daley, Allara, Lady Lash and Mau Power.
Mr Williams, a Waradjuri and Wakaman man, has had roles in a number of TV series including Informer 3838, The Time of Our Lives, Gallipoli and Angry Boys.
He has also worked in theatre, and performed in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Deadly Funny stand-up competition.
Vic NAIDOC 2020 Concert: Always Was, Always Will Be will be live streamed from Hamer Hall from 6.30pm on Saturday, July 11 - what was originally the second-last day of NAIDOC Week.
