Golden Oaks Nursing Home's two-year, $4.9 million redevelopment is complete, with a new 15-bed wing expected to welcome residents this weekend.

The Bendigo Health operated facility will offer residents the chance to move from dual occupancy to single rooms, offering greater privacy and modern facilities.
Bendigo Health chairman Bob Cameron said the expectations on the standards of accommodation in the aged care sector have changed markedly in recent years.
"We have seen a big transformation here," Mr Cameron said.
"It is a far more homely environment now."
A demand for single rooms is a sign of the times, according to Mr Cameron.
"We have seen a generational change," he said.
"Once upon a time, people didn't really care, even if they were cared for in a dormitory.
"As one generation replaces the next, the next generation wants to be on their own and able to mix with people in beautiful communal spaces."
The new wing received funding from the state government's $350 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards said Bendigo Health has a world class aged care facility at Golden Oaks.
"The Regional Health Infrastructure Fund is building fantastic facilities like this one," Ms Edwards said.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said the fund is delivering modern health facilities.
"The fund was started to invest in health services and facilities in regional communities," Ms Allan said.
"It's been a couple of years in the making but there has been a transformation at this aged care facility.
"Bendigo Health has listened to residents about what they wanted and built the best facilities possible."
Upgrades to the dining room and kitchen will allow for meals to be cooked onsite, while communal spaces offer residents ample opportunity to socialise with family, friends and each other.
In May 2019, a multipurpose lifestyle area linking Golden Oaks and Carshalton House opened.
The $3.5 million project links Golden Oakes to the 45-bed Carshalton House.
The overall upgrades to Bendigo Health's Golden Square aged care precinct and nearby Simpkin House residential aged care service are worth almost $5.8 million.
