Spending on mall not worth it
Why throw good money after bad? Nothing the council does is going to work until the problem with anti-social behaviour in Hargreaves Mall is sorted out.

The mall is the last place I go to and an embarrassment to every Bendigonian.
I personally had to perform CPR on a man in a toilet in the mall after he had overdosed. It was absolutely traumatising for me.
It's time to get real! You can't walk here without being confronted the issues. What an absolute embarrassment.
As someone who is Bendigo born and bred, I feel ashamed of what it has become.
This city is beautiful, with the architecture, gardens, lakes, restaurants and facilities all magnificent, but the scourge of the anti-social behavior demeans everything.

Poor financial record
Taxpayers want their government to practise sound economic management. Paladin, a security provider, registered to a beach shack on Kangaroo Island, was granted a $423 million contract for its Manus Island operation---without the normal tender process--- which works out to a cost of $1600 per day per Manus Island refugee.
Great Barrier Reef Foundation, a tiny company with limited experience, was given a $444 million contract without having to go through a tender process---strongly criticised by the auditor general.
Christmas Island detention centre was re-opened at a cost of $185 million so the PM could have a photo opportunity there. One refugee family is confined there now.
The ABC budget will be cut a further $84 million this year (part of $700 million cut since 2014). This is the same ABC which has spent extra millions to inform, warn, and protect Australians during the bushfire crisis and the current COVID-19 epidemic. Our ABC deserves more support, not less.
Sound economic management? Really?

Costly campaign?
I am wondering how much money it is costing the ratepayer on these ads for Love Your Local? The vast majority of the community are already doing this to a very large degree.
It is the City of Greater Bendigo's CEO and councilors that need to heed this message and start to respect the needs and views of the community, instead of harebrained schemes such as the GovHub or shelter for the Hargreaves Mall.
After all, it is our money and the facilities belong to us, and you are our elected servants.
