The July 4-5 start date set out by Football Victoria remains in place regardless of the recent increase in cases across Melbourne.
"We note the Government guidance in relation to the six (6) 'hot spot' municipalities," FV said in a statement.
"We are urgently seeking Government advice on any impact this will have on clubs in these affected areas and community sport."
However, Bendigo CIty FC squads remain focused on putting in their best efforts at training sessions in the lead up to the season start.
Bendigo City FC president Paul Henderson said players were enjoying be back on the field at training sessions.
"They are truly thrilled to be back on the pitch and able to kick the ball around," he said.
"One of the biggest challenges, which it would be for any sports club, is meeting all of the COVID-19 guidelines."
Bendigo City FC has also appointed Matthew McNamara as its new technical director.
"Matthew has already brought some great ideas to our club and also provides a new outlook for us," Henderson said.
McNamara has plenty of experience with teams such as Altona Magic SC, Brunswick City and Hume City FC.
When the opportunity arose to work with Bendigo City FC, McNamara jumped at the chance.
"The opportunity presented itself to work with Bendigo to help steer the club in a new direction," McNamara said.
"To be able to work with a regional club as a technical director was a project that really interested me."
McNamara has a strong passion for soccer and sees the chance to work with juniors at Bendigo as a way to support the growth of the game.
"It's really important that we set strong foundations for the players at the earliest possible age," he said.
The club returned to training around a month ago and during that time McNamara's focus has been on instilling confidence within the players, and above all keeping them engaged.
"It's quite competitive playing against some of the kids from Melbourne who tend to train up to four nights per week," he said.
"It's also been quite a hard start to the year for them with all that's going on, so I've been trying build their confidence in addition to teaching them new drills for attacking combinations and scoring goals."
Bendigo City FC is also on the lookout for more under-16 players to fill its ranks for the upcoming season.
