For the first time in months Bendigo Kart Club members will be able to get behind the wheel and return to their track.
"We are so excited to be opening up our track on Sunday, especially for a lot of the club's new members who are wanting to experience the circuit," BKC president Matt Ferrari said.
The track will be open to members for non-competitive social karting sessions which will be conducted under strict guidelines set out by Karting Victoria.
BKC volunteers have been hard at work during recent weeks to ensure the track was in prime condition when they day arrived for racers to be able to get back behind the wheel.
The troop of passionate volunteers spent endless hours at the club working on upgrading parts of the 650m track, which includes resurfacing the final three corners.
"The biggest difference is the corners have been resurfaced to remove a few bumps which will give the racers a lot smoother grip," Ferrari said.
"Overall it is going to be great to hear and see the karts in action and back out on the track again."
There is still uncertainty as to when racers will be able to resume competitive events in Victoria and the rest of the country.
Some of the sport's biggest annual events such as the Golden Power Series, 2020 Vic Kart Championships, Rotax Pro Tour and the Australian Kart Championship have all been postponed for the time being.
The BKC is scheduled to host round five of the Golden Power Series on October 17-18.
