BENDIGO Health general patients will be allowed two visitors at once as the hospital eases restrictions put in place to prevent COVID-19 spread.

The hospital will also recommence visits to specialist wards.
The change comes nearly three weeks after the hospital let visitors in by pre-arrangement.
Bendigo Health general patients will be able to receive two visitors for up to one hour.
Intensive Care Unit patients will be permitted visits of 15 minutes, with pre-arrangements.
All visits to specialist wards must be prearranged with the nurse unit manager.
Bendigo Health acting chief executive Robyn Lindsay thanked the public for their patience with the restricted visitor hours.
"We are really pleased to be able to increase access for patients to their loved ones in this way," Ms Lindsay said.
"The reason we have been able to do that is because the people of Bendigo have been adhering to the public health messages. And we urge them to continue to do that."
Bendigo Health chair Bob Cameron thanked the people of central Victoria for their responsibility.

"It's now been over eight weeks since we had a positive case in Bendigo," he said.
"As a result of that what we're seeing is relaxing across the state, and we are able to do that in Bendigo as well."
Mr Cameron warned if case numbers did increase the hospital would have to revert to previous visitor rules.
The changed visitor policy comes into effect from Thursday.
