Under a new, streamlined system property owners will no longer pay higher contributions depending on the location of their property.
From July, all residential properties will see a fall in their FSPL rate.
In May, the Treasurer announced the FSPL would be frozen for 2020-21 to assist Victoria's recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The FSPL equips fire services with the tools and resources necessary to fight fires.
Regional Victorians will see a fall in FSPL from $141 to $137.
The total charge will remain about $150 for a typical metropolitan residence.
Industrial or commercial properties in the old CFA district will either see no increase, or a decrease in their rate.
The fixed levy will be indexed in accordance with the legislation.
Changes to the FSPL are due to the establishment of Fire Rescue Victoria and the changing nature of population growth in Victoria.
Fire Rescue Victoria commences on July 1 and will abolish metropolitan and regional fire district boundaries.
It will bring MFB and CFA career firefighters and staff together to create a unit that serves Melbourne and major regional centres.
