White Hills playing coach Sam Kerridge would be a target for clubs should their leagues make a start in 2020.
The former Adelaide and Carlton AFL player is based in Melbourne and an attractive option for cashed up clubs in metro leagues.
Kerridge said he hasn't been contacted by any clubs since the HDFNL last week decided to cancel its 2020 season because of COVID-19 restrictions.
"At no stage have I thought about playing footy anywhere else,'' Kerridge said.
"I'd be surprised if many leagues got up. I think a few will pull the pin in the next few weeks.
"I'm happy to sit back and watch it all unfold."
Kerridge has plans for a football-free six months.
After being drafted to the AFL fresh out of school, Kerridge wants to try another sporting interest that he previously hasn't had time to develop because of footy commitments.
"I'm hoping a few triathlons and ironman events might get started later in the year,'' he said.
"That's something I've always wanted to do and I'm looking to train for those.
"With footy it's hard to push the body that hard, so I might take the opportunity this year to do it.
"After playing a lot of footy over the years, I'm sure the body would love a break, but I'm a bit of a fitness freak.
"I'm punching out a couple of half-marathons at the moment... I like to test myself, so I want to have a crack at these events if the opportunity comes up later in the year."

Kerridge had a big impact on the HDFNL in his first year in charge in 2019.
He played well individually, and led success-starved White Hills back to the finals, which gave the Demons plenty of confidence that they could take another step forward in 2020.
"The boys were super keen for the year,'' Kerridge said.
"They had a super summer leading up to the coronavirus issues and everyone was raring to go.
"Everyone is bitterly disappointed, but health is the major priority at the moment and we'll look forward to next year."
