The state government announced Mount Alexander council will receive $100,000 to build the playground, in addition to a $250,000 grant from the state's Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The Harcourt Progress Association has contributed $6500, courtesy of a Maldon Community Bank grant.
The space will feature a 6-metre tower and a 10-metre slide.
The tower design was inspired by apple crates and will feature names of apple species grown in the region.
A climbing wall, play stalls and viewing platform will also form part of the design.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards said the government's investment in the play space is also an investment in community health and wellbeing.
"This terrific all abilities play space will ensure people stay to play and enjoy the beautiful park and township of Harcourt," Ms Edwards said.
Traditional Owners, Dja Dja Wurrung, were consulted about the play space design, while a working group of local residents helped develop a concept for the park.
Ms Edwards said the government has recently invested millions of dollars in Harcourt.
"Two years ago we constructed La Larr Ba Gauwa Park, which has attracted thousands of visitors to the town and region," Ms Edwards said.
The play space will link to the Harcourt Swimming Pool and the car park at Larr Ba Gauwa Park.
Construction of the play space is expected to begin in July.
