But, from the table of his family's home in Mandurang, he reached out to a fellow parishioner who might be feeling the effects of isolation.
The 10-year-old is among a number of students in the St Therese's Kennington Catholic parish making an effort to safely connect with vulnerable members of their midst.
Rylie and his grade five peers at St Francis of the Fields Primary School are doing so by writing letters.
St Therese's Primary School and Assisi Kindergarten students have also been preparing letters and artwork for those who might be feeling cut off from their community, given the COVID-19 restrictions.

Rylie knew little about the community member he'd be writing to other than their name.
But he knew what it was like to be living through a pandemic, so he drew on those experiences.
Rylie asked the woman he was writing to how she was going in isolation, and told her a little bit about himself.
"I enjoyed it. It was fun writing," he said.
He and his family are hopeful of receiving a return letter.
"I really loved it. I loved the whole concept of it," Rylie's mother, Sandra Diss, said.
She appreciated that her son had the opportunity to write to someone older.
Rylie and his eight-year-old sister, Lily, have written a number of other letters to vulnerable community members.
Mrs Diss said the activity had encouraged her children to consider other historical events members of the community might have lived through.
It had also made them conscious of using appropriate language.
St Francis of the Fields chaplain and school counsellor Maree O'Connor said the letter writing was inspired by the parish's concern for members of the community who might be feeling isolated.
It had the additional benefit of complementing the grade five students' studies.
