Mr Vedelsby said regional visitation will be important for a number of communities in the second half of the year when more COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
"Your Bali trip is probably cancelled, (so) look to visit locally. I am confident that Bendigo will see an influx of visitors in the second half of the year as more restrictions ease," he said.
"International borders are unlikely to be opening anytime soon, this means we have a restless market in Melbourne ready to stretch their legs and Bendigo will be in the front of minds given the exciting upcoming events we have ready to action as soon as these restrictions are lifted and we are all safe."

More than $32 million will support the creative arts industry while $6 million will help support live music industry workers.
"Victorians love turning out for big events and while they can't do that currently," Mr Pakula said. "This support will go a long way to making sure our tourism, sport and racing bodies can rebound quickly as restrictions are lifted."
Mr Vedelsby said the funds would significantly contribute to the recovery effort across the state.
"All state and federal funding is welcome. Regional tourism boards and the Victorian Tourism Industry Council are major contributors to the tourism industry in our region," he said.
"We are all in this together, please support your favourite local venues. Eat breakfast at small cafes and order extra bacon. Walk to lunch and buy two glasses of wine. Buy artisan produce from a local deli or market. Visit a local attraction and smell the roses, because we could be in London or New York City."
