Country Fire Authority firefighters helped rescue a pony fell deep into a ravine in Glenluce on Sunday afternoon.

The horse's owner and locals had already started to cut away overgrown blackberries that had trapped the pony when it fell.
Fryerstown captain Hamish MacCallum said the rescuers had made good progress when the CFA arrived.
"We notified the horse rescue team at Arthurs Creek CFA, and started looking into mechanical assistance in case we were going to need that," he said. "SES also helped with lighting as we were losing daylight
"But the fellas made good progress and were able to cut a tunnel through the scrub that they could eventually stand in."
The pony was freed after more than two hours of work.
