Fresh from a double at last Wednesday's meeting at Bendigo, the comeback reinsman notched a treble to boost his tally of winners to six since his return to the sulky on April 3.
After five meetings under the new regional racing model, Lakey trails only Alex Ashwood and Ellen Tormey (both on eight winners) on the central region driver standings.
Neither leading driver was able to add to their tally on Monday, on a day when eight individual trainers shared the spoils across the card.
Lakey kicked-off a productive day by winning the opening event - the two-year-old pace- aboard the Glenn Douglas-trained Treacherous Saint.
After a pair of seconds with Double Dot for trainer Bill White and Von Ponder (Shaun McNaulty), Lakey added his second win with the Kylie Linsell-trained three-year-old Orbie, who broke her maiden at start number 12.
He sealed a memorable day by taking out the last race on the MacNaulty-trained Gobsmacked.
It was a fitting way for Lakey to cap the treble. The four-year-gelding provided him with his first winner in the comeback earlier this month, while exactly half of his winners since his return have been for the Marong trainer.
Treacherous Saint's win was the seventh success for Strathfieldsaye trainer Douglas since the introduction of regional racing.
Champion veteran reinsman Brian Gath continues to find success under the new format, adding his second driving win and first training win on American Tiger, while Anthony Crossland advanced his tally to three following a win to the three-year-old filly Lola Devereaux.
Other winners on the card were Louieville Lass for the trainer/driver combination of Brett Shipway and Peter Sanderson, Downunder Barkers (Keith Semmens/Tayla French) and Ace Duigan (Michael Mannix/Shannon O'Sullivan).
Racing returns to Lord's Raceway on Thursday night.
