ISLX and Power AV joined lighting companies around Australia with a short display to thank health care workers for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hashtags of thanks, and messages of safety, were displayed across the Ulumbarra Theatre on Wednesday night.
Power AV owner Grant Villiers said most of his work had been cancelled as it was an event-based company.
He said this meant he and ISLX owner Ian Scott had plenty of time to grab a projector and shine their thanks onto Ulumbarra.
The pair designed the display between them. It was only on show for about five minutes, with few people seeing it.
Mr Villiers said the event was primarily for social media.
Victorians are only allowed to leave the house for essential shopping, medical, care or compassionate needs, exercise, and work or study that cannot be done remotely.
The lighting display was initiated by the Australian Lighting Industry Association, after similar events in Europe.
Mr Villiers said the show was just a feel good piece to put on social media, with good messages on it.
OTHER NEWS:
These included #StaySafeBendigo, #HealthCareHeroes, #LightUniteAus and #ThankYou.
It was part of Light Unite Australia, aiming to show solidarity with healthcare workers fighting COVID-19.
"They're on the front line of what's happening at the moment. It's good to put some big messages out there to support them," Mr Villiers said.
"We just jumped on that same bandwagon. It's just a good little message."
Nearly 6,500 cases of COVID-19 had been confirmed in Australia as of April 15.
The majority of these are in NSW and Victoria, with 2886 and 1299 respectively.
Most of these cases were acquired in Europe, the Americas or at sea.
