With people urged to stay at home, there has been a noted rise in the number of people visiting Eaglehawk Landfill.
Council's resource recovery and education manager Brooke Pearce says there has been a considerable increase in the number of customers at the landfill and transfer station sites in March.
"Many customers are taking advantage of the free green waste disposal at Eaglehawk Landfill," Ms Pearce said.
Eaglehawk Landfill continues to operate as usual, unless notified otherwise by the state government.
All transactions are to be made by card, with no cash accepted.
The Eaglehawk Landfill is open from 8am until 4pm daily at 191-193 Upper Road, Eaglehawk, with garbage bags and carloads charged at $180 per tonne.
There are three transfer stations in Greater Bendigo located at Heathcote, Goornong and Strathfieldsaye.
