FOOTBALL-netball clubs across the AFL Central Victoria region remain in hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis.
Just over two weeks ago it was announced by AFLCV that clubs were advised to cease all activities in relation to football and netball, including training and practice matches, until April 1.
April 1 was Wednesday, but the ceasing of all activities for clubs will continue until further notice.
AFLCV is being guided by the AFL, whose most recent update last Friday in regards to community football stated there is no confirmed date of when clubs can re-commence training "given the changing nature of the situation".
"The AFL will continue to work closely with State/Territory bodies, and our affiliated leagues, in consultation with the Australian Government, World Health Organisation and the AFL Chief Medical officers, to constantly review the situation," the update reads.
"Further communications will be provided regularly to advise on latest timings and restrictions around training."
At this stage seasons remain on hold until at least May 31.
The Heathcote District, Loddon Valley and AFL Central Victoria Women's seasons were all set to get into full swing this weekend.
"We're going with what the government and AFL is advising at the moment. The most important thing is that everyone stays safe and does the right thing," AFLCV regional manager Carol Cathcart said on Thursday.
"It's a tough situation at the moment and everyone just needs to find their own way to stay fit and healthy."
