A red sedan was torched so close to peppercorn trees that there are scorch marks on a number of branches.
The CFA has attended the scene.
The car was driven several hundred metres into the reserve and dumped near the remains of historic mine diggings and a memorial to seven miners killed in an explosion.
The men were on the seventh level of the Great Extended Hustler's Mine when the disaster erupted in 1914.
