People are being urged to stay home and to only leave the house for food, exercise and medical needs.
Lyn Wingrave, who was walking at the park with her spaniel Indy, said she has noticed people keeping their distances.
"So far people I see are observing the social distancing," he said. "But for people who live by themselves this is their only social contact even while staying two metres from (from others).
"It's a real health and wellbeing thing for the dogs to. You do hear so many stories of people getting a positive difference from coming here.
"One older man I know comes with his daughter and just sits with his dog. It's purely for his health, wellbeing and social inclusion.
"The only thing I haven't thought of until today is using the gate. Maybe people should use some gloves or a poo bag to go through."
