But as soon as the Bendigo musician can, he will be hosting a launch part for The Withered Grapevine.
"I chucked the album out early because of the lockdown," Fawkner said. "So far it has been pretty well received.
"It might be good timing in a way. Hopefully everyone who does buy it does for their own entertainment. I have an underlying guilt that people buying because they know I've had all my gigs cancelled.
"I would hate for it to be a charity rather than a decision by people to listen to my music."
The Withered Grapevine was recorded at the end of 2018 at Kasey Chambers' home studio. Chambers also produced the album.
Fawkner got the chance to work with Chambers after touring Australia with her.
Chambers also performed on the album along with her father Bill Chambers and Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival veterans Alister Turrill and Richard Perso.
"We'd been on the Campfire tour and she liked some of the songs and wanted a CD," Fawkner said. "I told her a lot weren't recorded yet and she said I could come in and record for free and she would help produce.
"It was really cool. Kasey is just an average person. She was just offering a friend something she had access to. I feel like other celebrities might have an ego that is too big to offer that kind of charity.
"This is the album I'm probably most proud of. It is my second album but fifth or sixth release."
The arts and entertainment industry has stalled as more services and facilities are shut down due to corona virus.
Fawkner, who is a regular performer and busker, said it has been challenging.
"With all gigs cancelled or postponed, that is my min income," he said. "Usually I booked between $500 to $1000 each weekend and now that's all gone.
"Technically I would be allowed to busk but it's not recommend. You should stay home if you can.
"It's a reshuffling of music industry for sure. I'm planning on some live stream busking with a (donation) link.
"In regards to how musicians deal with it, it's a new climate for us. A lot have been forced to adapt to the digital marketplace. It's interesting to see how many people will go and thrive on this.
"(Meanwhile) I will be working on another album during the lockdown period."
