After yesterday's cancellation of the NBL1 South season, all basketball in Bendigo is now indefinitely off for the foreseeable future.

However, amid all the uncertainty in the world at the moment, the Braves are determined to remain focused on whenever it is that players are able to return to the court.
"The Braves brand itself and basketball in Bendigo is huge, we all know it's a basketball town," Bendigo Stadium general manager of sport Ben Harvey said.
"The club has a massive history over the past 35 years."
In addition to stoppages of all its teams, the club has also put its 35th anniversary plans on hold.
Bendigo Basketball Association president Ben McCauley said it was a "challenging time for everyone".
"We had a few things coming up that we had been planing," McCauley said.
"We had started planning our 35 years of the Braves celebrations which were to be held in May, it was going to be a good chance to get everyone together.
"That won't be going ahead but we will work with Ben (Harvey) and the events team at the Stadium for something in the future."
The BBA was also close to launching a domestic wheelchair basketball competition, which it still plans to hold in the future.
Harvey said one of the biggest challenges was the morale of players and staff involved with basketball, from all of the domestic teams through to the Braves in the NBL1.
"The last 10 days have been challenging. Everything keeps changing every minute and hour," he said.
"Basketball Victoria has done a fantastic job in making the right decisions given the circumstances."
Harvey said the health and safety of all players and the community was the number one priority.
"We're passionate about basketball but there are a lot of things going on in the world right now for us to reflect on," he said.
"All of the processes are in place and when all of this finishes, when that time comes, everyone will be excited to return to the court."
In the meantime Harvey encouraged kids to stay active and engaged.
"The kids that play any sort of sport at the stadium whether it's volleyball, netball or basketball, no doubt you can work on your game outside at home," he said.
"You can still refine your craft and no doubt we will have some online training coming soon."
