The Shiraz Republic, like businesses across a number of industries, is experiencing a downturn due to the international health crisis.
Manager Spencer Page said the winery noticed a slight drop-off last weekend, but already 40 to 50 per cent of expected visitors this weekend had cancelled.
A wedding scheduled to take place at The Shiraz Republic at Easter was "touch and go", he said, although being an outdoor venue the current restrictions on indoor gatherings did not apply.
Mr Page said the winery team was concerned about the impact coronavirus could have on the business, although he said "we're reasonably diversified... hopefully there are other taps we can turn on, so to speak".
It was also fortunate to be heading into the quieter winter season, he said: had the outbreak occurred going into summer, the impact would have been much more drastic.
