The project has been a great example of a council that cooperatively engages with the community, that connects people, that facilitates new opportunities, that fosters sense of community spirit, and without wasting resources.
I encourage the council to continue supporting this venture.
Its continued success should be held up as an excellent model for other councils across Victoria to emulate.

Community pool must stay
We're excited that the council has recommended a four year lease, although we are concerned it includes a 'close earlier than four years' clause, with no reference to consultation with Golden Square Pool Inc, or the community.
We started to campaign to Save the Golden Square Pool in 2012, when our daughter Emily was three months old.
Emily (turning eight) and Krystal (five) are both junior volunteers learning many valuable life lessons from their many amazing role model volunteers at the pool.
During the past seven years volunteering at Golden Square Pool, we have witnessed it become a real community hub.
The amount of passion the community members have for this pool is unbelievable, and is visible by the sheer number of volunteers working together as one.
Golden Square Pool is such a safe family friendly place to spend the summer days, outdoors with beautiful green grass and shady trees.
Being nearby we are able to cycle to the pool on our bikes as a family.
Our children are learning to swim in the pool with their local friends, and no matter what day we go to the pool, there is always someone local we know who is ready for a chat.
Closure would mean the loss of a real community hub, where family and friends currently meet, whether planned or coincidental, for afternoon swims, barbecue teas and endless chats.
